Day 68: One Gender is Better

YourOwnVoice video on youtube.

"Could you at least greenscreen a kitchen behind them, I get really triggered seeing women outside of the kitchen."

"Just when I thought the Regressive SJW Feminist propaganda bandwagon was starting to die. I saw this video.
Nope. It's alive and well."

"feminists are evil monsters who only seek to drive men to extinction. if you don't think that feminism is bad take a look around and see how feminism has ruined the world. the world is run by feminists and we as men need to rise up and revolt against the feminization of the world so we can secure the existence of our people and a future for male children."

"No. If you live in a first world country you are equal to men. Stop creating problems where they don't exist, you whiny cunts"

"Should have never let women vote."

"Why are these women outside the kitchen?"

International Women's Day Bingo Card. To remind us we still live in the patriarchy.

On the metro - put my hand on the poll, and the other man standing near me's hands start to absentmindedly slide down, forcing me to move my had lest we touch. Then he leans his whole body on the pole, forcing me to move my hands so that his chest/stomach don't touch mine. Then we sit down on two adjacent seats, and he man-spreads so much that I need to sit to the side so that our knees don't knock. He is oblivious to all of this.

"Let's not call this a problem at all," a third woman proclaimed. "A woman’s nether regions are supposed to be pristinely hair-free and of course smell like a meadow full of flowers, and now my vagina is expected to be watertight? Give me a fucking break." A man complains that his cum oozes out of his wife and that grosses him out. this woman responds.''

A man complains that his wife oozes his cum after he orgasms in her. It grosses him out. He wants to know if she can do anything like do more kegels to make him feel less gross.

"In Dubai, a woman can be arrested for having sex outside of marriage even if she reports having been raped. In Kenya, women have been assaulted in the street for wearing miniskirts. In Afghanistan, hundreds of women have been arrested for 'moral crimes' - such as fleeing forced marriages and domestic abuse. In Colombia, women have been threatened, attacked, and murdered for speaking out against injustice."

Today I did 10 things that would be illegal for me to do in other countries, just because I'm a woman. Including going to work. And what I wore.

The Royal Canadian Mint releases a picture of Women's suffragette movement and how it's been 100 years since women could vote.
I call bullshit. It's been 100 years since WHITE women could vote.

"So, they don't have women on this hockey team, right?"
"Yeah, there's a separate, women's league. But these guys make millions of dollars, and they barely scrape by."
"Oh - why?"
"No one wants to watch women play hockey."

Men on a post about the 100 year anniversary of white women's right to vote tell women to stop squabbling about the fact that it was white women and not all women, who got the right to vote. Why can't women just be happy with a day that remembers them at all?

Kim Kardashian fights back against body shaming. "I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world."

Tweet by God: Thou shalt NOT use religion to tell women what to do with their bodies.

A man tells me he can empathize with me about sexism.

Harlequin novel covers.

"We live in a world of measurable, glaring inequalities. Look at politicians, CEOs, film directors, law enforcement officers, comedians, tech professionals, executive chefs, mathematicians, and on and on and on—these fields are dominated by men. (And, in many cases, white men.) To claim that there is no systemic inequality keeping women and minorities out of those jobs is to claim that men (people like you) are just naturally better."

"The best hairdressers in the world: men
The best chefs in the world: men
You cannot cut hair, or cook food better than men, which demonstrates that men are better at anything they apply themselves too. They have a better analytical style of thinking which flat out makes them better at everything. There is a time when you can say "that should be equal", and there are times (like now) when you can realise and acknowledge that one gender is better than the other."

Emma Watson on women in the film industry: “You hear of studio heads being like, ‘We can’t have a woman directing an action movie,’ or just sticking to these archaic notions of what a women will and won’t be able to do. But it’s interesting, talking won’t be enough; we really need to see some direct action taken at this stage.”

Emma Watson on Hollywood and image: "Later in the interview, Watson speaks about how retouched magazine covers contributed to her insecurity, particularly whenever friends would try to take photos of her.
“I realised it’s because I can’t even reconcile myself with my own image on the front of these magazines,” she says. “Comparing myself to how I look, when I’ve gone through all of that makeup and styling, in my normal life is… just… I can’t live up to it. I was like, “Holy shit!”"

"Brodsky explains that she feels caught between having to continue the interview for her piece and being deeply uncomfortable at essentially being propositioned by her subject—the conundrum that occurs, by definition, when one is sexually harassed on the job."

"The interview eventually comes to its natural conclusion, but I may also have unconsciously wanted to wrap things up early in the interest of standing up and walking out. Turner gives me a nice handshake goodbye. When I extend my hand to Kane, he yanks me in for a not-entirely consensual kiss on the cheek."

"Women music journalists have been dealing with harassment from “just-joking!” male interview subjects since the beginning of the craft—rooted in the ‘70s, when the codes of conduct in music were different because they were crafted by, and weighed heavily in favor of, men. Women music journalists spent the better part of the ‘80s and ‘90s grappling with the misogyny that faced, and faces us, whether through representation—there’s long been a gender imbalance dictating who gets to write the plum stories, gets the plum jobs, though it’s gotten better in the past two or three years—or through the purveyors of the music itself."

"I can’t believe anyone actually took this seriously as sexual harassment. A couple of high fives, a kiss on the cheek, and a single ‘want to come up to my room?’ that wasn’t repeated and she treats it like he grabbed her boob and pulled her into a stairwell for some slap and tickle." man gets angry about a woman who's tired of sexual harassment at work.

"Lilly Wachowski, 48, sibling of Lana, 50, came out in a statement to Windy City Times, after being threatened with outing by other media." Fuck the media.

"The new boss of Ontario’s Human Rights Commission is reminding employers that requiring women to wear low-cut tops and short skirts, tight dresses or high heels could violate the human rights code.
Such dress codes are “all too common in some restaurants and bars,” commissioner Renu Mandhane warned Tuesday, marking International Women’s Day and the unanimous passage in the legislature of law bolstering protections against workplace sexual harassment and violence."

In "The People v OJ Simpson", the prosecutor Marcia Clark is buying tampons, and the clerk says, "Uh oh, it's gonna be a rough week for the defense" with this smug self-satisfied grin on his face.
I thought that this line was a bit of artistic liberty, but no, that actually happened in real life.
